Bible Study--ACTS

FREE ACTS BIBLE STUDY
Saul launched vicious attacks on the followers of Christ
(Acts 8:1–3). In the midst of his authorized and fanatical pursuit of the
followers of “the Way,” he was blinded by a supernatural light and heard the

Free
Bible Study:
Paul’s Epistle to the Romans

Website: http://paulsepistletotheromans.yolasite.com/the-need-of-the-whole-world.php

Today’s Lesson:  The Need of the Whole World.

I am debtor. Paul views himself as a
debtor to the whole world. He has been placed in debt by the love of Jesus
Christ. “For the love of Christ compels
us…” (II Cor. 5:14).
Paul’s concept of Christian service is that each
believer is deeply in debt. It is probably this same concept that inspired
Isaac Watts to pen the words of the hymn “At the Cross” when he said, “But
drops of grief can ne’er repay the debt of love I owe. Here, Lord, I give
myself away, ’tis all that I can do.” Paul felt he had a responsibility to give
nothing less than himself to the spreading of the gospel by which he was saved.

Lesson: Christian Freedom
and the Weak Brother

Preface: The Corinthians
were divided over the question of whether it was permissible to eat meat that
had been previously offered to an idol. Paul agreed with those who thought it
was permissible, since idols were nothing as far as having any real power.

Lesson: Jacob's Sons and the Death of Isaac

Jacob” had one more funeral to attend—when “Jacob” was bereaved of “his
father.”  “Jacob”
had left Bethel
and had left a lonely marker on the way that led to Bethlehem.  His old nurse was dead, his beloved Rachael
was dead, Dinah was nursing her heartache and shame, Levi and Simeon were still
in the camp after having shamelessly bragged about their disgraceful deeds, and
Reuben had acted worse than a pagan.  So
nursing his many hurts “Jacob came” at last to “Isaac,”
his blind old “father,” whom he had wronged through
deceit many years (30 years) before.

Lesson 47: Responsibilities
Towards Neighbors
Scripture: Romans
13:8-14
Excerpt: It
is impossible for an unconverted person to manifest this divine love. In fact,
it is impossible even for a believer to demonstrate it in his own strength. It
can only be exhibited by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Love found
its perfect expression on earth in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our
love for God manifests itself in obedience to His commandments.
